Berwick Fringe Festival
A new grassroots music festival for Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Berwick Fringe Festival is a new, multi-venue music festival bringing live music, creative activity and community energy into the heart of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Taking place across pubs, cafés, creative spaces, community venues and outdoor stages, the festival celebrates local and regional musicians while creating paid, supported opportunities for emerging artists to perform, connect and grow.
Year One is being delivered as a focused pilot: small enough to stay grounded, ambitious enough to prove what is possible. Across the weekend, audiences can expect live performances, pop-up sets, talks, demos, family-friendly activity and artist-led events shaped by the people and places that make Berwick’s music scene special.
The festival has been created by Amped Berwick CIC, a musician-led community interest company building accessible pathways into music learning, creativity and performance in Berwick and the surrounding Borderlands area. Amped’s work is rooted in the belief that musicians in underserved places should have access to the same opportunities as those in major cities, regardless of income, background or postcode.
Berwick Fringe Festival is not about dropping a big city model onto a small town. It is about growing something local, useful and sustainable: a festival that supports artists, brings venues together, creates new opportunities for young and emerging musicians, and gives audiences a reason to explore Berwick through music.
This first year is just the beginning.
